Everything's getting worse. Rose Nylund and Frasier Crane murdered Jughead Jones during the event Jughead worked so hard to organize. Given some of the townspeople were in attendance, it didn't give a good impression -- if the visitors did this when trying to be good people and get along with Cartesio, then how will they behave once they get into destroying everything? The cruel method of Jughead's death also left everyone quite horrified, too.
That may be why it's no surprise the town's quiet unrest is slowly turning into real, tangible fury.
During the week, from time to time stones break some of the windows of the motel, looking outside shows a random passerby running away. Graffiti is left on the walls: 'SEE IF YOU LIKE THIS' 'MURDERERS' 'YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY US ALL', and other similar messages. Some of the store owners hesitate when the visitors approach, but they don't refuse service because money is always nice.
The Sergeant's pervasive influence is starting to cover not only you, but also the entire town of Cartesio. After all, everything that's happening to you and the motel? It's the result of what you and the other visitors have done.
In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and
the maps have been updated once again.

[Don't argue, don't argue, don't argue.]
I want to catch whatever's responsible for the vandalism as much as you do. What's the harm in sharing some information? It's not like you guys have any leads right now.

I'm not lettin' anyone cover their tracks.

I respect your vigilance. I don't want to be accused of breaking things I didn't break either, so keep an eye out while I go look at the console.

Eugene, come with me and this nosy guy here. [ That...seems promising. He's letting you see the console? Just not alone. ] You take one step outta line and we call the police, understand?
no subject
Not a toe out of line, got it.
[And jeez, is he so threatening that they gotta have two people watch over him...]
Lead the way.

They walk him inside, keeping on either side of him. So he won't make a break for it? Probably. Where they lead him...well, that console? It is definitely still busted. Not in much better a state than the last time he was here, though a few people are working on it, muttering to themselves. ]

The paper said this was done with a hammer, right? Any idea how your vandal got in?
[He turns to see if that hole in the wall that he and Kino came through is patched or not. Starting with the obvious route of entry.]
no subject
I think those are the kinds of questions we leave to the police.
[ The hole's patched! ]

You don't need the police to have an opinion.
[So hrm, not the mysterious wall hole. Any signs of a recent forced entry, maybe?]
no subject
Yeah, well the investigation's ongoing.
