Everything's getting worse. Rose Nylund and Frasier Crane murdered Jughead Jones during the event Jughead worked so hard to organize. Given some of the townspeople were in attendance, it didn't give a good impression -- if the visitors did this when trying to be good people and get along with Cartesio, then how will they behave once they get into destroying everything? The cruel method of Jughead's death also left everyone quite horrified, too.
That may be why it's no surprise the town's quiet unrest is slowly turning into real, tangible fury.
During the week, from time to time stones break some of the windows of the motel, looking outside shows a random passerby running away. Graffiti is left on the walls: 'SEE IF YOU LIKE THIS' 'MURDERERS' 'YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY US ALL', and other similar messages. Some of the store owners hesitate when the visitors approach, but they don't refuse service because money is always nice.
The Sergeant's pervasive influence is starting to cover not only you, but also the entire town of Cartesio. After all, everything that's happening to you and the motel? It's the result of what you and the other visitors have done.
In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and
the maps have been updated once again.

TUESDAY - May 1st
NEWSPAPER
Strange vandalism at the fire station. Yesterday the system that monitors the cameras of the town was destroyed. The extent of the damages is extraordinaire, even compared to the recent events that have affected Cartesio.
Despite the damages and the place they happened, there's no proof as to who is responsible for this crime. Was it one of the visitors? For once we can't say for sure. This reporter will continue investigating.]
MOTIVE
It's Lodge time. Also, Keith, no chasing the cops this time.
[That warning was much needed, in his opinion.
Once everyone arrives, the Sergeant raises his voice]
Tomorrow it's May, everyone! It'll be May, and out of the thirty of you, only three have received medals so far! Can you believe it? A tiny amount of people will be leaving this town. To your credit, I'll say it hasn't been for lack of trying. Four attempted killers so far...
[Too bad they failed in getting away with their murders]
Since we're entering the second month of your stay here, I'm going to offer you something you'll be grateful for! Once you leave Cartesio, you can have with you a person of your choice, with no restrictions!
[The Sergeant gives emphasis to that, and just in case, explains further]
If that does not sound convincing, then think it this way: you can have any person with you. You could choose to take with you someone from your group that'd otherwise stay trapped in this town. You could take someone who died in this town. You could ask for someone back at home, and then...return with them? [Okay, scratch that last point] You even could ask for someone who's dead back at home, and it'd be possible too.
There are infinite possibilities here. Kill someone, get away with it, and earn not only this reward, but also the right to leave this town. You're running out of time, everyone. You better step up your game.
[That's it. He's done]

...Well, it was probably only a matter of time before he offered to bring people back to life...

quietly, he leaves. ]

This isn't the place for him to do his thinking though. So when the announcement is over he lingers for just a short moment, before walking out.]

Her mouth forms a single word – Crow – but no sound comes out.
...Rean would never want her to do this, and she knows it, but she's already done horrible things for him. To not only get him out of here, but to let him bring back the one person he'd failed to save...
She shakes her head, slamming her eyes shut. When she opens them, she turns on her heel and stalks out of the lodge.]
...c'mon, Lammy. Let's go.
[Her ever-loyal "friend" materializes behind her, and she hops into its waiting arms, but she can still be stopped or followed. She's not going too fast, nor does she really have a destination.]

No, I can't. Not even for sensei, or mom...

Nice, you might break more than just an old granny this time.

You're as full of bullshit as before...

That's pretty rude, you know. Throwing this in people's faces.

Either way, he is present this time, expression growing darker and darker as the meeting continues. He gets to his feet -- fists clenched.]
You--
[For a moment, he looks as though he's seriously considering throwing a punch at the Sergeant. A deep breath later, and he turns to leave the Lodge without another word.]
MEETING
We should meet at the diner to discuss this.
[Once he figures everyone who will come has arrived, he looks around at everyone, looking tired.] It's useless to pretend that none of us will be tempted by this motive, isn't it? Even if you don't believe that he can bring back the dead, the first part of his offer is definitely something he can do. So I will just say that whoever murders is still likely to be caught. [They're four for four so far, after all.]
[A sigh.] Has anyone discovered anything new? I've learned the Sergeant has an interest in Gerard's feathers, though I wasn't able to get anything from him in return for one. He also claims to have a lab of some sort where he could analyze it.
no subject
[So. With that said:]
I found some plants grown in the flower shop by someone named Faba. He wrote some notes that were left in there that also mentioned someone named Serph who hangs around the junkyard. Are those names familiar to anyone?
[She means Sakura, Millium, and Wayne, naturally.]
Other than that, we're more or less the Sergeant's men because he's in charge of us. On the other hand, those who got their memories erased are just like the townspeople to him - he doesn't particularly care what happens to them, but he did say they would be okay. [So. That's something.] I can't get him to tell me much about them, though. It sounds like he made a promise relating to them.
Besides that... he says even if he was allowed to, he wouldn't tell us why we're here, for our own sakes. It's not related to the missions he assigns us, but the reason is apparently horrible enough that he'd rather we didn't know about it.
[And that ends the weekly Kino report.]

Pass 'em around if you want to take a closer look. I think Cherry, Milly, and Derry might want to take a look at some of the names to see if they recognize 'em.

Um, I should bring up that the person in the library from the newspaper-- he's the one I called sensei. I also saw Alfin-chan at the flower shop, too.
[...]
Oh, and one more thing. Sometimes I can sense brief bursts of magic signature in the town. And spirits, too, but it's not as often.

Also, I really feel like this should be obvious, but considering everyone who's been killed on Thursdays has just been out in the open... Maybe everyone here should start considering not wandering around the town when our murder deadline is set to expire in a few hours. Just a thought.

ALSO A WAKE
By the way, this Thursday night, Sakura and I plan on holding a wake for the dead in the hotel lobby. There will also be the folding of more paper cranes. Anyone who wishes to attend may come.

[Keith has a distinct feeling that Axel and company are more than happy to try blaming him for the damage done to that surveillance system they had set up, but he's got questions of his own and why not go directly to the source to ask about this incident. He's wearing armor again (nope, hasn't forgotten Axel's weapons) as he walks to the fire station, looking for someone to talk to. If he's unimpeded, he'll be heading towards the room he and Kino were able to peek into last time to look at the damage himself. Space woof has been left out of this,]
Beauty salon - late afternoon
[Aaand the wolf is back, and Keith's dressed more casually again. He's taking a look around the abandoned building, raising an eyebrow at all the fussy stuff he doesn't really see the purpose of and then pauses when he spots a pair of sharp scissors. It's been a month, he could probably use a haircut.
That puts another thought in his head though, and he can be found in the salon eyeing various wigs. Hm...]
In town - early evening
[Around the time people get off work, Keith can be found looking a little lost at a very specific area of town. Namely the place where Mason had marked on the map that the library is supposed to be. He's frowning, looking from the map to the buildings. By now, all the townsfolk are literally crossing to the other side of the street to avoid Keith's path, so no help really looks to be forthcoming. Keith's muttering to himself as he scans the people on the streets.]
Looks like places only show up when the Sergeant puts them on the map, huh.
Beauty Salon
But then there's Cosmo and Cian waves at the wolf. ... and then also at Keith. Cosmo is just so fluffy, can you blame her? ]
